Blog 2- Why did I choose Social Work?
Hi everyone!
When I was a child, I dreamed of traveling the world, so I only thought about job alternatives that would allow me to do that (like being a stewardess or a singer), but then I realized that my vocation was to strengthen the working classes.
As a humanist, I went through many careers, such as Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, until I learned about Social Work and all the training it proposes; it has philosophy, social history, social psychology, sociological theory, among other subjects which at some point I thought about studying as a career. I decided to study Social Work because it implies knowing the social and intervening in the social body.
My experience at the university so far has been both fun and stressful (more stressful than fun), but I hope that sooner rather than later, the big doors of the faculty will open, through which the free student body will pass.
Thanks for reading!

ReplyDeleteHello javiera, with everything you say even makes me want to study social work, if there is something that interested me when choosing my career, it was as you point out the breadth of topics and the ability to intervene in social reality
